During sedation dentistry, patients receive a sedative drug, such as tranquilizers, or anti nervousness drugs. These drugs are taken orally or delivered via an IV. Nearly all these drugs permit the patient to remain awake, but in a pain-free state, throughout their procedure.

Depending upon the process or procedure you are having, sedation may last just a few minutes to a few hours. While sedation dentistry is extremely safe, there are several patients who should talk to Dr. Mueller to see if sedation dentistry is a great option for them.
