Kim Caldwell: Hi, I’m here today with Dr. Andrew Mueller, an oral surgeon from the Doctors Implants. Our topic today is to talk about full arch dental implants. You talk about experience which is a key factor in your an oral surgeon. Tell me why someone should consider looking into having an oral surgeon place their implants as opposed to a general dentist.

Dr. Mueller: Sure. And I mean, you know dentist can place implants and oral surgeons can place implants. An oral surgeon is a specialized dentist. The really important thing is training and experience. So you want to make sure, in dental school, you’re not trained to place dental implants. That’s not part of the curriculum. There are some dentists who will pursue a lot of additional education and that’s great. But as an oral surgeon in a six year residency program, that’s a heavy focus for years. Of how to place dental implants gaining lots of experience and lots of expertise from the mentors that you’re training underneath of. And so if I was having this procedure done, if I was having any surgery done, I want somebody that’s doing it every day. And that’s highly trained to do it. Those are the two most important factors I think for any surgery.

Kim Caldwell: Thanks for your time today. I’m sure that our audience will be able to learn a lot from it and make some great decisions about moving for with with dental implants.
